We urge and recommend that every Mulakandau family to buy and keep the book MULAKANADU BRAHMANARU,by Dr T V Venkatachala Shastry an excellent book based on research and huge amount of data collection with respect to the tradition and culture of our community people. History
The sabha started working way back in 1989, initiated by a small group headed by Dr TV Venkatachala Shastry, Dr Dakshinamuthy, Dr K N Pandit, Prof K G Satyanarayana and other leading personalities of the community in Mysuru.
They acquired on lease, a Civic Aminities site in the same year alloted by MUDA. Subsequently, the committee members worked hard to build a Kalyana Bhavana in phases on the Hanusur Main road.
It maintains a small library in its premises with a collection of rare books.
The memebrship has grown beyond 1000. A lot of support is available from members across the community for the conduction of varoius activities.
Sabha has also come out with a series of booklets called Mulakanadu Mahaneeyaru.
Welcome to Mysore Mulakanadu Sabha Website!
An organisation of Telegu speaking brahmins of Mysore city with an aim to promote the social, literary and cultural uniqueness of these community members. It was started on 3rd November, 1989. Since then, it has become a very active organisation of the small community in Mysore organizing lectures, programmes, tours, celebrations etc.
It conducts the following events every year.
1. Sri Thyagaraja Aradhane and Vidwat Sanmaana
2. Sri Shankara Jayanthi and Samskruthi Shibira
3.Guru Poornime and Prathibha Puraskaara
4. Upaakarma and Samuhika Upanayana
5. Sri Visvesvaraya Birthday, Dasara Dolls Exhibition, Gita Jayanthi
6. Dhaatri Havana, Sri Ramanavami, Samuhika Anantahpadmanabha vrata Udyapane
It has built its own Kalyana Bhavana (Wedding Hall) on Mysore-Hunsur road, next to Aishwarya Petrol Bunk.
The choultry has a Function hall, dining hall to accomodate 250 persons and a well equipped Kitchen. The function hall has ten rooms with two rooms for bride and bridegroom which have attached baths. The function hall can accomodate 600 persons. The building has ample parking area and has a ramp for persons with difficulty for climbing stairs.
