We recommend every Mulakanadu family keep a copy of MULAKANADU BRAHMANARU by Dr T V Venkatachala Shastry — an excellent, research-based book on the tradition and culture of our community. Cost: Rs 450 (currently discounted to Rs 350). Contact the Sabha to buy this valuable book.
History
The sabha started working way back in 1989, initiated by a small group headed by Dr TV Venkatachala Shastry, Dr Dakshinamuthy, Dr K N Pandit, Prof K G Satyanarayana and other leading personalities of the community in Mysuru.
They acquired on lease a Civic Amenities site in the same year, allotted by MUDA. Subsequently, committee members worked hard to build a Kalyana Bhavana in phases on the Hunsur Main Road.
It maintains a small library on its premises with a collection of rare books.
Membership has grown beyond 1000, with strong support from members across the community for its many activities.
The Sabha has also brought out a series of booklets called Mulakanadu Mahaneeyaru.
